  5. 1 tsp urad dal

  9. 3 chilli, finely chopped
  10. 1/2 +1/2 cup carrot, beetroot, paste or grated
  11. 1/4 tsp turmeric
  12. 1 tsp salt
  13. 1 cup rava / semolina / suji, coarse
  14. 1/2 cup curd / yogurt
  15. 1/4 cup water to adjust consistency
  16. 2 tbsp coriander, chopped
  17. 1/2 tsp eno fruit salt
  18. As required oil for greasing

Steps to make to make Instant beetroot and carrot idli

  1. Firstly in a pan heat oil and add mustard seed, chana dal, cumin, urad dal, pinch hing and few curry leaves noadd chilli, ginger. saute until golden brown. now add carrot, and beetroot pastesaute for 2 minutes or vegetables shrink slightly. Now add turmeric and salt and saute this slightly.
    now add rava and roast on low flame.When rava turns aromat after switch off flame. now,cool the rava mixture and transfer in a bowl.
  2. No,cool the rava mixture and transfer in bowl, add curd and mix well.no add water and mix well forming a smooth batter.rest for 15minutes or until the rava absorbs water.
    mix well and add water as required, to form an idli batter consistency batter.grease the idli plate with oil.
    just before steaming add a eno ( mix well till it turns frothy. Or can add a pinch of baking soda.pour the batter immediately into the idli plate.
    steam the idli for 15 minute.
